Keepsia is a private photo-sharing platform designed for families, friends, and shared experiences. Keepsia allows users to create private Circles, share photos, create Moments (shared collections), and create Open Moments for guest photo contributions through private links.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

We may collect information you provide directly, including:

• Phone number
• Optional email address
• Display name or profile name
• Photos
• Captions
• Comments
• Circle memberships
• Open Moment contributions
• Support communications
• Payment and subscription information

B. Guest Contributions to Open Moments

Guests may upload photos to Open Moments without creating a Keepsia account.

Guest uploads may still involve collection of:

• IP address
• device information
• uploaded photos
• upload timestamps

Guest contributors may not be able to later access, edit, or delete uploaded content unless they create or link a Keepsia account.

C. Automatically Collected Information

When you use Keepsia, we may automatically collect:

• Device type
• Operating system version
• App version
• IP address
• Diagnostic and crash information
• Usage and analytics data
• Push notification tokens

D. Photo Metadata

Keepsia may retain limited metadata associated with uploaded photos, such as photo date information.

Keepsia does not intentionally retain precise GPS location metadata from uploaded photos.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide and operate Keepsia
• Authenticate accounts using SMS verification
• Deliver private photo-sharing features
• Create and manage Circles, Moments, and Open Moments
• Process uploads and comments
• Provide customer support
• Improve app functionality and reliability
• Detect abuse, spam, and harmful content
• Process purchases and subscriptions
• Generate memory books and print products requested by users
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Open Moments

Open Moments are private, unlisted shared experiences that allow anyone with a valid link to contribute photos while the Open Moment is active.

Open Moments:

• are not publicly searchable
• are not indexed for public discovery
• may allow viewing and photo uploads by anyone with the link
• may remain viewable after contribution windows close

Open Moment creators control:

• contribution windows
• moderation settings
• visibility after closure

Uploads to Open Moments may be automatically screened using automated moderation technology before appearing.

5. Content Moderation and Safety

Keepsia uses automated systems, including AWS Rekognition or similar technologies, to help detect potentially harmful or inappropriate content.

Circle owners and Open Moment creators may also moderate submissions within spaces they manage.

Keepsia does not routinely review private user content.

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate our Terms of Service or applicable law, including content involving:

• abuse
• exploitation
• harassment
• spam
• illegal activity

Keepsia may report unlawful content or activity to law enforcement when required or appropriate.

6. Payments and Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases may be processed through:

• Apple App Store
• Google Play
• third-party payment providers such as Stripe

Keepsia does not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

Payment processors may collect and process billing information according to their own privacy policies.

7. Notifications and Communications

Keepsia may send:

• account verification SMS messages
• push notifications
• service-related communications
• optional future marketing communications

Users may opt out of non-essential notifications where supported.

8. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information:

• with other users inside your private Circles or Moments
• with Open Moment participants who have access to a shared link
• with service providers who help operate Keepsia
• when required by law
• to protect users, rights, or safety
• during business transfers such as mergers or acquisitions

Downloaded content leaves Keepsia's controlled environment. Keepsia cannot control how photos are shared or redistributed after download by another user.

9. Your Content and Ownership

Users retain ownership of the photos and content they upload to Keepsia.

By uploading content, you grant Keepsia a limited license to:

• host
• store
• process
• display
• organize
• reproduce
• create print products or memory books requested by users
• provide sharing features within the Services

This license exists solely for operating and improving Keepsia.

10. Deleting Content and Accounts

Users may delete their own photos and accounts through Keepsia features.

When a photo is deleted:

• it is removed from user-visible areas
• it is scheduled for permanent deletion from active systems

When an account is deleted:

• associated photos are removed from shared Moments and Circles
• comments may remain as "Deleted User"
• some limited information may remain temporarily in backups or legal records

Users leaving a Circle may be given the option to:

• remove their photos from the Circle
• or allow them to remain as part of shared memories

11. Data Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to:

• provide the Services
• comply with legal obligations
• resolve disputes
• enforce agreements
• prevent abuse or fraud

Deleted information may persist temporarily in encrypted backups or disaster recovery systems.

12. Children's Privacy

Keepsia is not directed toward children under 13.

Children may appear in photos uploaded by parents, guardians, family members, or authorized users.

Accounts are associated with the individual controlling the verified phone number used for authentication.

Parents or guardians with concerns regarding content involving minors may contact: safety@keepsia.com

13. Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to:

• access information
• request correction
• request deletion
• object to certain processing

Most content can be managed or deleted directly within the Keepsia app.

14. Security

Keepsia uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.

However, no internet service or electronic storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15. International Users

Keepsia may be used by individuals located outside the United States.

By using Keepsia, you understand that information may be processed and stored in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

16. Third-Party Services

Keepsia may rely on third-party providers for infrastructure, analytics, communications, crash reporting, moderation, payments, and notifications, including providers such as:

• Twilio
• Cloudflare
• Bugsnag
• AWS
• Stripe
• Apple
• Google

These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make material changes, we may:

• update the Effective Date
• provide notice within the app
• provide additional notice where required by law

Continued use of Keepsia after updates means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
